Our parks feature ball fields, basketball courts, tennis courts, play equipment, picnic areas and a water sprinkler.  Loucks Park features lights for nighttime play at the ball diamond and on the tennis courts, a concession stand and a pavilion that can be rented out for parties and meetings. The Gazebo Parklet located in the heart of downtown, offers shaded park benches along with a gazebo that has been the backdrop of many photos.

A recreation program is offered for area children during the summer months at Loucks Park. Children are given the opportunity daily to participate in making a craft and to take part in a fitness program. Play equipment is also available for use during this time. In conjunction with the Southmoreland School District, a free Iunch is also offered as part of the summer Food Program.

The parks commission sponsors the Olympics in the Park event at Loucks Park, the annual Car Show on Pittsburgh Street and the summer concert series at the Gazebo Parklet.

The parks commission meets monthly on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 6:00 P.M. in the Borough office.
